BACK in the mile high city!

Don't have a lot of time to post but I'm finally back, bebe!!! I'll get into the details of the trip when I get some time...get ready for a meaty post!!! Ya might want to check the comments section of the previous post for a bone or two in case you were really interested.

It felt good to hang with my pups for a bit before I passed out last night. I missed them. Thanks E for bringing my sorry azz back home.

Just got my mid-year review. Nuttin' like getting off a 10 day jaunt in another state and jumping right into the review cycle. ;o) It was all good of course but my brain is full right about now and there are only two things I really want to be doing right now...sleeping or drinking. OK...three...but we won't get into that one.

Oh! And and my God-daughter's pics are up on my Flickr (ha! my Flickr...sounds all naaaaaughty! tee-hee!). I can't wait to see ya, baby girl! Uncle Jimmy has a surprise for you! :o)

Friday Five, yo!

T-minus two days before I become a Godfather!!!!!

Friday Five
1. How long have you had your LiveJournal/blog?
I've had it since April of '04 but I didn't really start getting into it until the following year.

2. What do you consider to be the main purpose of your LiveJournal/blog?
Information sharing and getting things off my chest. It's been therapeutic for me.

3. If you could change something about your personal blogging style, what would it be?
I don't really think I have a style and I don't really write it to impress anyone. I'm me...no more no less. Don't like it? Don't let the door hit ya when you press the next blog button.

4. What are your criteria for adding someone to your friends list/blog roll?
Basically, if I find their "stuff" interesting or it makes me laugh, then I'll add them. I'm pretty easy going. I don't have set criteria. I can say one thing...my current blog roll keeps me coming back for more. You guys ROCK!

5. Name one thing that you've never before written about in your blog.
hmmmm...I've never really left something out intentionally. Well, maybe a certain date I had, but I won't go into it too much. I had a blast and that's all that matters! Geeeeez, I wish I could go out with her again (soon)! ;o) But, in general, the sky seems to be the limit with me. ;o)

Have a WONDERFUL weekend!!! I'm headed to Sacto on Monday afternoon (board intow). Hopefully I can get some water time in next weekend.

Godfather

Jason, just asked me to be the Godfather to his daughter, Ronnie! I can't even explain in words how excited I am! It actually choked me up. With all the other woman related high maintenance, manipulative, and just plain mean stuff I've had to deal with for the past couple of weeks (thank God that's over), this is my silver lining. Funny thing about silver linings...some are big...some are small...but they are always there if you pay attention.

This is a HUGE honor for me and I wholeheartedly accept the responsibility.

-----------------------------
Ronnie,
On being your Godfather...
I pledge to be the best Godfather I can possibly be to you, little girl. I pledge to be there for you should you ever need me. I pledge to to always treasure you as the special blessing that you are.
On being a daughter...
Please remember, your parents are very special people (they mean the world to me) and they love you very much. Love them, trust them and respect them with all your heart and in every situation.
On becoming Baptized Catholic...
Question your faith at all times for it is through questioning your faith, that you will come to understand it.
On your Baptism Day...
May the grace of God shine upon you and may His love be with you forever.

With love, care and vigilance...your Godfather,
Uncle Jimmy

Capt'n, I'm givin' her all she's got!

I'm really not a big fan of power failures. They actually kinda suck...especially when you live alone. And, it was DARK! Like really dark. There was really nothing to do. I mean, you light a few candles, find a flashlight, go outside and water the lawn...but only after tripping over just about everything one could trip over on a lawn. What else can you do? You can't really read anything because there's not enough light, the internet (of course) isn't an option, and the T.V. doesn't work. I hung out with the pups for a few but they're black and I really couldn't see them. All because some brainiac decided to hit a powerline pole like 5-10 miles away. Talk about a huge grid! To make things worse, the houses two blocks away had power. That's just recockulous. So I just sat there until my A.D.D. kicked into overdrive. I started war-dialing pretty much anybody I could.

What does it boil down to...well...I can't stand being bored. Had someone else been there, it probably would have been a different (fun) story. Instead, I was just annoyed. Not Scottish. Not Scottish at all.

I was able to talk my friend into taking care of the boys for me though. She lives up the street and yes, her house also had no power. You ROCK girl! Thank you!

I need a break from my weekend...

What an insane weekend.

Friday night: I went out with a couple of my good (married) friends. Yeah, the whole 3rd wheel thing messed with me for about the first two crown and cokes but what the hell. I was out and that's what mattered. Our first stop was Vinyl (the old 1082). It was the first time I had been there since a snow storm caved the whole roof in a couple of years ago. When they rebuilt, they actually opened up the roof to the public. We mainly hung out there.

Anyway, after a while, we decided to go to Taboo (located directly above Diamond Cabaret). I guess it was Marcus Camby's birthday or something and all the Denver Nuggets were there. The Bentley(z), the BMW(z) and the Benzos gave it away walking up to the club. Clue #2: I was the shortest guy in the place. :o) Those guys are HUGE! We headed down to Diamond for a bit but ended up going back upstairs for last call.

You'd think that would be the end of it. Heeeeeeeeell no. My friend leans over to me on the way home and says, "hey, Jimmy. You done drinking?". Thinking he knows of a corner bar that stays open a little later than last call, I say, "Bring it.". We park. I look around and I don't see a bar anywhere near us. Now, I've lived in Denver pretty much all my life and I normally find my way around based on what bar the target location is near. I have no clue where he is taking me. We proceed to walk through an unmarked door where a lady sits at a computer. She takes my ID, verifies everything on the ID and enters it into some application on the computer. A bit odd, yes but I really wanted another drink or two. She lets us pass. I walk into what seemed to be an adult version of a slumber party. There were beds everywhere, 4 conjoined hot tubs in the back, a ton of couches and from what I could tell, at least a few massage tables. The place was really nice. Again, a bit odd, but like I said, I really wanted another drink or two. We walk up to the bar and order. "Crown and Coke please.", I say to the nice lady bartender...her back facing me. She turns around and I'll be damned if it wasn't a guy!!!! No sh*t! Dude was in his 50s at the very least, had on a skirt, blouse, makeup, wig and women's shoes. I know I must have had the most startled look on my face. I couldn't speak...it was like a train wreck. I couldn't look away. Now, I'm pretty accepting of different people...I try not to judge or hurt the feelings of other people but for the love...I mean it was a dude dressed like a lady and when you're not expecting that...well...I'm sure as hell sorry but instinct takes over and it was a fight or flight scenario. I turned away and looked at my friend for support. He was laughing his azz off. No help there. I don't even remember taking the drink but I somehow ended up sitting on the couch with it...yes, I seem to have repressed at least 10 minutes of the night because of that one incident. If you haven't figured it out by now, I was in what is commonly called a "swinger club". Now, I've known my friends were freaky from day one and I've heard stories of these types of clubs but I have never personally been in one. And, apparently we caught them on a "slow night" because there were only 15 people there or so. Again, to each their own. These people weren't hurting me or anyone else around them so I say, this is America...be free...even though I know it's not right for me and probably never will be. Moreover, I've always known my friends were freaky and in turn, they know I'm not "into" it.

I digress.

So we're sitting there on the couch and a nice man comes by and introduces himself. We start a conversation with the man and pretty soon my friends and I are talking about something that doesn't involve the man. Hell, I almost forgot he was there. Out of the corner of my eye, I see this chump scoping out my friend's wife and there was movement in his lower region. Yes, dude started going to town on himself! Well, that's about all I could take because I really wanted to knock this guy out. As calmly as I could, I stood up and told my friends it was time to go. I get to their house at about 5 and end up not sleeping all night because I kept picturing that dude dressed like a lady.

Saturday: I helped my friend take his boat to storage and went to a wedding. Scott and Tanya, I don't know if you guys read this but CONGRATS!!! Had a blast by the way! I ate good, drank and danced all night. Scott is somewhat of an idol to me. I mean, this guy waits until he's 40 to get married and reminds me every time I see him that "I'm young and I still have time".

Sunday: Got up early (I don't know how) and went to the lake with Pam, Mand and Larie. I had fun but took a few hard falls because the water was so choppy by the time I got to board. Still fun though. I went home, watched the Broncos whoop up on Jax and started working on landscaping (I swear I'll get that done before Winter hits us).

Today: Just booked our flights to Sacto (again). There's a fat payment milestone attached to this one too. I guess I'll leave next Monday night and stay until the 19th. I'm bringing my board and I'll stay with Trish and B over the weekend. Still haven't figured out what I'm going to do with my pups yet.

I know it was a long post...if you got this far...you have a waaaaaaay better attention span than I do. Contrats and adios!
