Went up to Glendo with the Mullen\Bear Creek crew over Memorial Day weekend. Here is the rundown-
Friday night: We get up there around 11ish with jet ski in tow. Set up tent in record time and commence with the drinking whilst sitting by the campfire. Sam's Club sized bottle of Jägermeister lands in my lap at 11:30. End up going to bed at about 5 AM.
Saturday: Gorgeous day. Felt a little rough but after a few red-beers and some Italian sausages, I was ready to tube and ride the jetski (mostly because I didn't want to screw up my ankle). Discovered a couple of nice little coves while I was on the jetski. I also spotted a nice tube just sitting in the middle of the lake. It even had a really nice tube rope attached. We sat there for about an hour to see if anyone would claim it to no avail. Great day! I'll give it a 7 out of 10 (the water was a little cold).
Saturday night: The wind blew in those clouds on Saturday night but we toughed it out and partied until the wee morning hours on Sunday. Went to bed again at like 5. Ate a good ribeye that night though. This thing was probably 2 lbs of meat. I gave my boys 1/2 of it...they love me again.
Sunday: Overcast and a little windy but we kept the campfire going. We all sat around it and yes, you guessed it...drank yet again. This gets a 4 of 10 for obvious reasons.
Sunday night: The wind stopped but it started to rain...and rain...and rain some more. We were having to soak the wood in gas in order for it to burn. It was pretty much a muddy mess. VERY duuuuuuuurty...and not the good kinda duuuurty. That's alright though...if you get sh*tty enough it really doesn't matter. My liver finally told me it had enough margaritas and it was ready to go to bed at like 4.
Monday: Got up at like 11 (mainly because I didn't want to get out of my sleeping bag) and immediately started packing. I'd had enough "camping". People were getting stuck left and right trying to get up the hill to get out of there. Of course I didn't get stuck...I drive a Dodge. ;o) This gets a 2 of 10 but only because it wasn't snowing.
Trips like this really make me appreciate my parent's lake house which is where I'll be over the 4th. I like what I call the necessities...tap water, shower, microwave, stove, sat TV, hot tub, grass, shelter (tents are NOT shelter), and a bed.
Here are some pics.

Friday Five
1. Describe your education: I went to Notre Dame 1-6th grade. Got kicked out for fighting (wasn't my fault, I swear). Went to O'connell for 7th. Then I went to St. Bernadette in 8th grade. I attended Mullen for high school. I bounced around a little after that. I went to ACC for a couple of years, then went to Christian Brothers University in Memphis. I finally landed at Metro State.
2. What's the last class you attended? I went to a .NET class when I worked for Microsoft so it's been about 8 months.
3. Which do you think is more critical: classroom learning or real life experience?Real Life Experience without question. Classroom learning gets you in the door. Life experience keeps you there.
4. What subject would you like to learn more about? I'd like to become a better welder. You can do some pretty cool stuff with metal. I have body and a little paint experience but my welding skills aren't very good.
5. Given the choice, would you sit in the front of a classroom or in the back? It really doesn't matter to me as long as I'm there. I normally keep on my toes a little more when I'm sitting up front.

Most Excellent! Seems my crew and I are heading to Glendo over Memorial Day weekend! I'm PUMPED to say the least. First off and probably most important, it's a rare occurrence that we all get together in one place at the same time. Secondly, we'll have two boats and a jetski. And finally, my ankle is feeling a lot better. I'd say it's probably at 65-70 percent right now but I'm going to try to take it easy. That brace I got last weekend helped out a bit however I really don't feel like going-off only to have to take a trip to the Wyoming state hospital.

Friday Five - TGIF bebe!
1. How tall are you? 5 foot 9.5 inches
2. When is the last time you stood up for yourself? I pretty much do that on a daily basis whether I mean to or not. It's in my gene pool.
3. Are you scared of heights? I get vertigo in extreme cases but for the most part I've gotten over my fear of heights within the last few years. I used to hate to fly. Now it's old-hat.
4. Tell us a tall tale: I love winter but I hate summer. Being cold rocks! All the cool kids are doing it.
5. Wookie-hookie: Did you see the new Star Wars movie? I had the opportunity but I haven't seen the last 3 movies. I mean, I like them...just not to the point where my life revolves around them.

Stuck in my head and I can't get it out...

Hmmmmm...interesting. Since I have a side discussion about pit bulls...Check THIS out. Is it really about how they're raised?

Well, I guess my ankle is sprained. The doctor said it's the anterior ligament...all I know is that it hurts like hell. He twisted it the "wrong" way this morning and I about flew out of the bed. So, I have to take it easy for the next few weeks and wear this gel cast. I guess it's better than a real cast. I guess that's what I get for snowboarding when I should have just waited until wakeboard season. Damn snow.
My Dad called me when he got home from going to the doc with me. I guess the contractor they had working on the house ended up building the scaffolding a little too close to the power line. I guess his heart stopped and had it not been for a nurse who was in the park across the street, he would have died. The irony of this is that the contractor was out there to fix the damage that was done to the house three months ago because of the power line being too close to the house. My Mom and Dad have called XCEL Energy no less than three times a week since that happened. They have done NOTHING. It kind of freaks me out because if I didn't have that doctor appointment, my Dad would have probably been helping those guys (that's just the way he is).
I guess the guy is just now in stable condition (he had been in critical condition all morning). I think this was the final straw for my "rents". They called all the local news stations and I guess it'll be on the news tonight. I hope they didn't film my Dad bitching out the XCEL guy. He said he called them every name in the book.

Maaaaan, I trashed my ankle wakeboarding yesterday at the lake. I'm going in to get x-rays tomorrow morning. I really hope I don't have to wear a cast because that would seriously put a damper on my Summer plans. That kind of thing would pretty much piss me right the hell off. I first injured it snowboarding up at Winter Park a few months ago but I just tried to walk it off as best I could. Well, now I'm kind of kicking myself for not going to the doc when it happened. I've never had any problems with my ankles or knees. I must be getting old. Keep your fingers crossed for me, please!

Can Summer please get here? I want to strap my board on and get behind a boat, please! I mean, I don't think it's an unreasonable request. Actually, I think a bunch of us are heading out to Chatfield on Sunday. I won't be on a tournament boat but at least I'll be on a lake.
I went up to Jackson last weekend for Mother's Day but it was crappy the entire time I was up there...I would have had to deal with a ton of wind chop and rain plus the water was still in the low 50s. I opted out. I must be getting "soft" in my old age. ;o)
Some good news! My best friend is thinking about throwing another Powell trip together this Summer. He has access to a piiiiiiiimped out house boat. It's like 75' x 18' and brand new. It has a big screen TV, all new appliances, twin V8s, etc... Stay tuned! If I go, I won't come back with tan lines! WHEEEEEEEEW!!! ;o)

Nice!!! I love random shit like this...
"The burger war is growing. Literally. Denny's Beer Barrel Pub, which lost its crown as the home of the world's biggest burger earlier this year, is now offering a new burger that weighs a whopping 15 pounds." Read all about it: Burger war grows with new 15 pounder!

Friday Five
1. If you could be famous for 15 minutes, what would the headline read?
Man wins largest lottery jackpot ever, takes everyone he knows to Vegas.
2. Do you think fame would change you?
Not a chance. I’m sure it would change how I live but it wouldn’t change me. I’d be the same Jimmy and I think anyone who really knows me, knows that.
3. Has your name ever appeared in the newspaper? ..what for?
Wakeboarding tournaments, waterski tournaments, wrestling tournaments, football games…that’s about it. Noting major.
4. Would you like to be famous for *more* than 15 minutes?
Refer to #1. I mean, who wouldn’t?
5. If you could perform one act of good while you were famous, what would it be?
Again, referring to #1: I’d donate so much to charity it would be sick. What the hell would I do with all that money anyway? I mean, there’s only so much of it one person could use (even after they hooked up their family and friends). I know this though...pretty much everyone I know would never have to make a house payment again in their lifetime.

I feel like I've been in constant motion for the past week. Last week seems like it was ages ago.
My trip out to Sacramento went well. We had a few minor setbacks but I was able to work through them to get the stamp of approval from the DOJ.
I flew back to Denver on Wednesday night, went home and got my truck. I then went out and met a friend who was out here for training. It was pretty ironic because this friend lives in Sacramento. I was only going to go out for a couple of drinks and then go back home because I was exhausted from my trip but when I met my friend downtown, my friend wanted to ditch the work people and go out and party so we told them we were going to "Rise" downtown. We ended up going to a kick ass country dance club called the Stampede. Wow! Remember when I said I was only going out for a couple of drinks??? For the love of all that's holy?!?!?! We ended up closing down the Stampede. Then we headed to Centerfolds (an all nude gentleman's club). They stay open until 4 AM. Well, we close that down. I finally took my friend back to the hotel at 5AM and didn't get home until almost 6.
Moral of this story: Jimmy can resist anything but temptation.
It was probably one of the best nights out I've had in a looooooooong time. I was draggin' butt yesterday and yes, I was physically at work but I'd have it no other way! What a kick in the ass time! It was just what the doctor ordered!

I won! I ended up winning like 250 bucks off of $20.00 in Central City. That whole trip blew my theory out of the water because almost all of the people on the bus did well. I won 40 bucks on one slot, twenty on another and I won the rest at 3 card poker. I had never played that before so it was probably beginner's luck. I'll take it aaaaall daaaaaaay long, bebe! What a fun night!
